Surgery Season

After Jen's harassment of us non-bloggers, I figured I better put something up here about Natalie's and Mara's recent surgery. Last Friday, Scott Major removed Mara's adenoids (not a star wars character), and Natalie's tonsils. Mara's recovery went well and is mostly over now. Natalie's doing okay, but still in quite a bit of pain and has to stay generally "hepped up on goof balls".

ODE to the "Goggles"

I figured I would be the first to post for the new year since everyone besides Jesse and I are extremely huge slackers. You can only use the excuse of being "too busy" for so long people so...I am expecting a huge increase in blogging this year from all of you!

Just an update. Tyler is back to school and in his 2nd semester at the Marriot Business School. This semester is much more calm in comparison with the last one but he is still staying quite busy. Not to mention that he was finally able to get his knee checked out and found that he tore his ACL. His surgery is this Thursday the 22nd. We are anxious for him to get it done so that he can get back to doing what he loves most..."playing sports". As for me I am just truckin along. Life is truly wonderful right now. I am really enjoying my running and have found that it truly is one of my few passions. It feels so good to be taking care of myself physically and spiritually. I attended the temple last week for the first time in months and I left with such a profound inner peace. I feel I am really coming into myself. This year I have many resolutions and the time to make changes has come. No more of this"starting on Monday" business :)

And lastly Kaysia. She is now 18 1/2 months and is getting more grown up every moment. Some things she loves are: reading books (she reads them to me not the other way around), dancing/singing, brushing her teeth, climbing on and up anything and everything, chattering nonestop in her own language, snuggling with her Momma and Daddy, watching Elmo's World, being silly, and the list goes on. She also is understanding a lot of Spanish and said her first Spanish word on Sunday. (baca) or cow. I almost started cheering in the middle of church. She loves to count and can already go up to ten. She stacks, lines up, and piles everything and loves to count them. She is definitely not always happy (naturally) but she is still our pride and joy. She brings so much perspective and already at her young age is teaching us with her sweet example. She can be a challenge for me at times but I am so grateful to Heavenly father that he trusted me enough to send such a vibrant, intelligent, loving little girl to be my daughter. He must have known how much I would need her.

I hope this post finds all of you happy and doing well. We miss everyone so much and would love to see you all WAY more. Maybe in the next life huh? Or at least in March or April whenever we go to St. George. :) We love you all. And here is our ODE to the goggles.
