The other day Chris and I had a great "discussion" via email. After bouncing a number of emails back and forth, i thought to myself, "Gee, it sure would be nice if we had a family blog where such 'conversations' could take place much more easily and much more often." Hence, the birth of The Hayes Virtual Family Room (I'm sure Mom and Dad would have preferred the deck), where we can share thoughts, ideas, events or whatever with each other.
For those of you not familiar with a blog, it is a place where you can "post" things, such as this that you are now reading. People who read it can then respond, or "comment" on what you have written. Then you can comment back and others can comment and you can comment on the comment, etc. Then when someone has a new thought they would like to share (anything from what your kid did to what food you just ate that was or wasn't good) they can author a new post and we can comment.
Let me know what you think about this forum of discussion. I think it would be great to be able to "talk" like this more often as a family, especially since some of us live so far away :) and we all have daily access to the web. Blogs are all the rage these days too. If you are interested, just leave a comment after this post (or email me) and I will fill you in on how to get set up to author on our family post (you can comment on posts anytime, but you have to be invited to author). It is really easy to post something--easy as sending an email to an email address that you will be provided or logging on and posting.
Hope y'all are doing well and I hope we can get this up and rolling so we can be gathered in Mom and Dad's family room everyday to chat it up.

Welcome to the family Karissa. I sent you an email that invites you to be an author...you'll have to set up a gmail account to log in. I think it only sends you an email when you post, but I'm not sure since I am the only one who has posted so far. You can set it up to send you an email when people comment on your post. Which color scheme is it that you like?
