Inbreeding, the Only Way to Go.....

I have always joked with Joni that her family--the Armstrongs--was the only family I knew west of the Appalachians that loved to go to family reunions to find a hot date...and maybe a spouse.  No more can I mock, because we are cousins....  Yes it's true.  (I've always wondered what was wrong with my kids....).

I've been reading Grandma Maxwell's history and kept reading about the many Armstrongs she knew.  Joni's Grandpa Armstrong was from Summit, not far from where Grandma grew up.  So I started searching our family lines on familysearch.org.  Turns out her Great Great Great Grandparents and my Great Great Great Great Grandparents are the same people--Joseph Hodgetts Smith and Marie Stanford.  Their daughter, Mary Ann Smith, married an Armstrong.  Their son, Joseph Stanford Smith, was our ancestor that battled through Hole-in-the-Rock.  He was Great Grandma Williams' Grandpa.  So we share blood from only a few generations back.

Also found out that Grandma's best friend all through school, Rela Armstrong, was a first cousin to Joni's grandpa.  My it's a small world after all.

We'll have to show you Nelson's secret twin growing on his back that we've been hiding all this time.....we have proof....we got a bibopsy.
